The Governments of Belize and the Republic of Uganda established diplomatic relations at the Ambassadorial level in New York today, 20 May 2024. Signing on behalf of the Government of Belize was His Excellency Carlos Fuller, Permanent Representative of Belize to the United Nations and on behalf of the Government of the Republic of Uganda, His Excellency Adonia Ayebare, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Uganda to the United Nations.
Belize and Uganda look forward to strengthening engagement and cooperation on areas of mutual interest and benefit to both countries, including enhancing consular representation and streamlining visa regimes.
Ambassador Fuller further expressed his congratulations to Uganda on their chairmanship of the Group of 77 and China undertaken earlier this year, highlighting the importance of their leadership in advocating for the interests of developing countries.
Present at the signing was Ms. Cindy Novelo, First Secretary and Ms. Brittany Hazlewood, Executive Assistant, accompanying Ambassador Fuller and Mr. Medard Ainomuhisha, Second Secretary, accompanying Ambassador Ayebare.
